Looks like 2.3.4 is unofficallly out / leaked for the galaxy s2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159946 Hopefully that will mean that the real one is out shortly.
Regarding the Notification LED, there is some work in progress with BNL background notification light. Though it will need a hacked rom. Keep an eye on xda developers
